[漢羅] M51：渦輪星系

揣著北斗星了後，繼續揣離 khat-á 較遠 ê 柄 彼爿，一直到拄著上光彼粒星為止。 了後，kā 你 ê 望遠鏡 tùi 西南爿徙一屑屑仔，你 to̍h 會看著 這對予人讚嘆 ê 交互星系。 伊 是第 51 个去予收 tī 彼个有名 ê Charles Messier 星表內底 ê。 這可能是 上早期 ê 捲螺仔星雲。 這个有完整捲螺仔結構 ê 大型星系，嘛予人編做 NGC 5194。 伊 ê 捲螺仔手骨 kah 塗粉帶， ùi 伊 ê 星系伴（頂懸）NGC 5195 掃過。 這對離咱有 3100 光年遠，嘛正式 tī 較細 ê 星座 獵犬座 ê 視角邊界內底。 雖然講 M51 看起來較暗 koh 霧霧，毋閣 親像這款深空影像 會當展示顯目 ê 色光 kah 星系 ê 潮汐屑仔。

I sī tē gōo-tsa̍p-it ê khì hōo siu tī hit-ê ū-miâ ê Charles Messier sing-piáu lāi-té ê. Tse khó-lîng sī siōng tsá-kî ê kńg-lê-á sing-hûn. Tsit-ê ū uân-tsíng kńg-lê-á kiat-kòo ê tuā-hîng sing-hē, mā hōo lâng pian-tsò NGC ngóo-it-kiú-sù. [English] M51: The Whirlpool Galaxy

Find the Big Dipper and follow the handle away from the dipper's bowl until you get to the last bright star. Then, just slide your telescope a little south and west and you'll come upon this stunning pair of interacting galaxies, the 51st entry in Charles Messier's famous catalog. Perhaps the original spiral nebula, the large galaxy with well defined spiral structure is also cataloged as NGC 5194. Its spiral arms and dust lanes clearly sweep in front of its companion galaxy (top), NGC 5195. The pair are about 31 million light-years distant and officially lie within the angular boundaries of the small constellation Canes Venatici. Though M51 looks faint and fuzzy to the eye, deep images like this one reveal striking colors and galactic tidal debris.
